SHEE ATIKÁ CARES ACT UPDATE

As you know, Shee Atiká teamed up with the Central Council of Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska to distribute its $277,000 in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) funding from the federal government to eligible shareholders.

Tlingit & Haida very generously assisted Shee Atiká in administering the CARES program at no additional cost to Shee Atiká or its shareholders.

Shee Atiká paid out $250 to a total of 779 shareholders throughout this process for a total of $194,700.

After the CARES Application deadline passed, it was determined that there was $50,000 remaining to be distributed.  The Board directed management to donate the funds to a local organization that could be used for COVID mitigation.  Management chose to donate the funds to the Sitka School District.  They were very happy to receive the donation to help the students during this challenging time.

The remaining funds were used to help pay for the program as well as other COVID mitigation costs.

We would like to thank Tlingit & Haida for their help administering this program.  We would not have been able to help as many shareholders if it weren’t for their help and generosity!
