Message from the Chair

As we reflect on 2025, I am proud of the progress we have made together as a community— through investments in place, people, and opportunity that strengthen Shee Atiká now and into the future.

Last year marked the long-anticipated opening of Sheet’ká Rainforest Park, a community asset that brings visitors and shareholders alike into the beauty of Alaska and promotes cultural connection, education, and economic activity. The park’s success is a testament to thoughtful planning, collaboration, and a shared vision for year-round community engagement.

Our commitment to our communities extended beyond recreation. Through the Fish to Schools program, Shee Atiká donated more than $40,000 in fish to local schools, supporting nutrition and cultural food traditions in classrooms across our region. These efforts reflect our ongoing dedication to strengthening both well being and our connection to ocean and tradition.

The Shee Atiká Family of Companies also continued to invest in people and opportunity. We announced a robust internship program, starting in summer 2026, welcoming five interns across Alaska Northstar Resources, Shee Atiká Federal, Shee Atiká Government Services, and Shee Atiká, Inc., with opportunities spanning marketing, shareholder relations, cybersecurity, cloud operations, and human resources. We also expanded educational support by increasing scholarship for 2025, while continuing funeral benefits that honor our shared values of care and responsibility.

In the broader business landscape, we are pleased to acknowledge strategic growth across our family of enterprises, including the Huntsville building acquisition by Shee Atiká, Inc., which strengthens operational capacity and positions the company for continued success.

Looking ahead, I would like to share important information regarding Board leadership opportunities. Our next Annual Meeting of Shareholders will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Anchorage Marriott Downtown, with both in-person and livestream options available. At that meeting, three director positions will be elected. Shareholders interested in appearing on Shee Atiká’s corporate proxy must submit a candidate application packet so that it is received by 4:00 pm Alaska time on Friday, January 23, 2026. This year, the Board will recommend up to three candidates from among qualified applicants, and discretionary voting will not be used. We encourage every interested shareholder to consider applying and helping shape the future of Shee Atiká.

We will also host two Shareholder Information Meetings this spring in Sitka, and Seattle to share updates, answer questions, and connect in person.

It has been a year of meaningful accomplishments and strong connections. I remain grateful for the dedication of our Board, staff, shareholders, and community partners. Together, we are building a resilient, vibrant future for Shee Atiká and the generations to come.

2026 Board of Directors - Call for Applicants

Three director positions will be elected at the 2026 Annual Meeting. Shareholders seeking to run for the Board and appear on Shee Atiká’s corporate proxy must submit a completed application packet received by 4:00 pm Alaska time on Friday, January 23, 2026.

The Board will not use discretionary voting, but will recommend up to three candidates. Board members not running for election will select recommended candidates from eligible shareholders who timely submit completed applications and meet the qualifications in Shee Atiká’s Bylaws. This application is separate from the application to succeed Norma Perkins on the Board.

Upcoming Information Meetings

In the months leading up to the Annual Meeting, we will host two Shareholder Information Meetings in Sitka, and Seattle. These gatherings are a great opportunity to hear updates on operations, listen to speeches from candidates running for election, and update your shareholder information.

This year, we will also be issuing new shareholder ID cards. Please plan to attend one of the meetings to receive yours. For those unable to attend in person, the Sitka meeting will be live-streamed on May 16, allowing you to participate virtually.

If you can’t attend a meeting but would like a new shareholder ID card, you can contact the office this spring to request that one be printed and mailed to you once you are registered in our shareholder portal.

Finally, our Annual Meeting in Anchorage will also be live-streamed, ensuring all shareholders can participate, whether attending in person or watching from afar.

We look forward to seeing you—and hearing from you—this spring and summer as we gather to celebrate progress, community, and connection.

Shee Atiká Internship Program

The Shee Atiká Family of Companies is pleased to offer a paid summer internship program in 2026, providing students and recent graduates with hands-on, real-world experience across multiple business areas. Internships will be available within Shee Atiká, Inc., Alaska Northstar Resources, Shee Atiká Federal, and Shee Atiká Government Services, with opportunities spanning marketing and communications, shareholder relations, cloud operations, cybersecurity, human resources, finance, and administrative support.

Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain insight into mission-driven organizations rooted in Alaska Native values. The program is designed to support career development while strengthening the future workforce of the Shee Atiká family of companies. Shareholders and other qualified students are encouraged to apply and take part in this unique professional opportunity.

Sitka Fine Arts Camp Scholarships

Shee Atiká is pleased to support Sitka Fine Arts Camp scholarships, helping local youth attend one of the region’s most inspiring summer arts programs. Sitka Fine Arts Camp offers immersive artistic experiences in music, dance, theater, visual arts, writing, and more for students of all ages. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and cover tuition, room, and board, making this life-enriching opportunity accessible to more aspiring young artists.

Registration for 2026 programs opens January 1, and spots fill quickly, so interested families are encouraged to apply early to take advantage of these scholarships.

Winter Scholarship Deadline:  January 15^th
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis after January 15^th as funds allow.

Shee Atiká Donated More Than $70,000 to Local Organizations

In 2025, Shee Atiká donated more than $70,000 to local and regional organizations working to strengthen our communities. These contributions supported a wide range of initiatives focused on education, cultural preservation, health and wellness, youth programs, and community services. We are proud to invest in organizations that make a meaningful impact and reflect our shared commitment to community, stewardship, and long-term well-being.

Movers and Shakers

My work will include partnering with Elders culture bearers, community members, and partner organizations to connect shareholders with cultural opportunities and support Indigenous knowledge-sharing. I will also continue co‑managing tourism operations at Sheet’ká Rainforest Park, where we are developing visitor experiences that highlight the unique and proud stories of our community and shareholders and showcase our thriving culture. This includes expanding culturally grounded staff training and integrating cultural content throughout the park.

Through heritage‑based activities and strong partnerships, we aim to expand economic opportunities, deepen cultural engagement, and enhance educational pathways for shareholders and the wider community.

Eikon Updates

Ben Hogan Announced As Eikon Research General Manager

We’re excited to announce the addition of Ben Hogan to Eikon Research as the new General Manager of Operations, effective January 12, 2026. Ben holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University and has 28 years of experience in performance, innovation, and customer engagement in defense contracting. Please join us in welcoming Ben and supporting his transition into this role.

Huntsville Building Acquisition Supports Long-Term Growth

Shee Atiká is proud to continue to build on our strong performance, year after year.  As part of our commitment to reinvesting in sustainable growth, SAI has purchased a building in Huntsville, Alabama, where subsidiary Eikon Research is currently located. This acquisition will increase profitability and long-term value for shareholders. While Eikon occupies a portion of the building, additional space is currently leased at market rates to third parties, with the potential for other SAI subsidiaries to locate there in the future.

The Huntsville building was contributed to SAFE before December 31, 2025, bringing SAFE’s total assets to more than $61 million. This significant increase reflects the success of SAFE’s investment strategy and underscores SAI’s continued focus on prudent reinvestment, operational efficiency, and long-term financial strength for the benefit of our shareholders.

Committee News

Scholarship Program

At the August 2025 board meeting, the Shee Atiká Board of Directors unanimously voted to make several changes to the Scholarship Committee Program based on recommendations from the Shareholder Relations Committee. Scholarships and funeral benefits are now being paid out of the Shee Atiká Benefits Trust (SABT).

The following changes will take effect on January 1, 2026:

• Lifetime Maximum - The lifetime maximum for scholarship awards has been eliminated. 

• Deadlines - Two additional deadlines have been added per year for academic, long-term cultural and heritage, and vocational/technical studies. The annual deadlines will occur on the second Friday in March, June, and October. The deadlines for 2026 are:

  • Friday, March 13, 2026

  • Friday, June 12, 2026

  • Friday, October 9, 2026

• Eligibility - As we are now paying scholarships out of SABT, all Class A (Native) and Class B (non-Native) shareholders are eligible for scholarships and funeral benefits. 

• Award Amounts - The board increased the annual award amounts as follows:

  • Academic (undergraduate) and Cultural & Heritage (long-term) - $4,500

  • Academic (graduate) - $6,000

  • Vocational/Technical - $4,000

  • Short-Term Training - $1,000

  • Short-Term Cultural & Heritage - $1,000

  • Youth Scholarships - $750 

Charlie Joseph Sr. Award

Charlie Joseph, Sr (Kaal.átk’) Award is given to a group or individual who strives to preserve the Tlingit lifestyle before Western man through their lived experiences or teaching others. Charlie Joseph, Sr. shared his traditional knowledge through living a subsistence lifestyle and teaching Tlingit traditions to students in the Sitka Native Education Program from 1974 until his death in 1986. Through his teaching and example, similar programs began cropping up in the Southeast Alaska region, and today, many of the dance groups have adopted his approach to teach countless students. Through his selfless efforts, Sitka and Shee Atiká owe Charlie Joseph, Sr. a debt of gratitude for passing on the knowledge and traditions of the Tlingit people, still being used today, almost 40 years after his passing.
