How do you plan to increase revenues for our company?

Shee Atiká has been working on building up its 8(a) subsidiaries to increase revenue. The Board has also worked to restructure the investment portfolio to account for current conditions to increase revenue.

How has the Board addressed expenses? Why do we pay Board travel?

Most of the 2020 Board meetings have been held via Zoom (videoconference) rather than in-person. This practice started in 2019 and has reduced Board travel. In addition, in 2020 the Board reduced board fees. Business related travel is a necessary business expense and paid by the corporation, which is typical of all businesses.

Does Shee Atiká have any special funding for disabled or injured shareholders or those affected by COVID-19?

Shee Atiká is not able to provide social service funding/benefits to individual shareholders. The Board paid a special distribution in April as a way to assist shareholders during this difficult time and also donated to a number of organizations around the state of Alaska who were assisting families in need.

Why haven’t you met in person with Sitka shareholders?

The Board had planned to hold the 2020 Annual Meeting for Sitka, in person, in May 2020. However, due to COVID-19, in the interest of public safety, the Annual Meeting was held virtually.

Why is the President/CEO salary so high?

The President/CEO is hired by the Board and the Board sets the salary.

When did Ken Cameron leave Shee Atiká?

Dr. Cameron was on contract through December 2019.

Who is the new President/CEO? When did he start?

Karl Potts is the new President/CEO of Shee Aitia, Inc. He was hired in December 2019, you can read more about him on our website: http://www.sheeatika.com/karl-potts

Why does the Board Chair report more meetings than the rest of the Board?

The Chairman typically has additional meeting of which the Board is aware. Most of the additional meetings in 2019 related to coordination with the search firm relative to the recruitment and hiring of the new CEO. However, the full Board made all the decisions.

Why can someone hold 2 positions?

Why do we not have term limits?

How do shareholders vote off the board and replace with all new board members?

The Corporation Bylaws do not prohibit someone from holding 2 positions and term limits are not addressed in the Bylaws. The removal of Board Members is addressed in the Bylaws which are available on the sheeatika.com website: http://www.sheeatika.com/shee-atika-bylaws.html

How many Natives work for Shee Atiká?

In Sitka, 5 out of 8 employees are Alaska Native.

Why are candidates with a Banking & Securities violation allowed to run on the Board Proxy?

All shareholders are invited to apply to run on the Corporate Proxy. The State of Alaska doesn’t prohibit shareholders with Banking & Securities violations from running for the Board. However, the violations must be disclosed to shareholders in the Proxy Statement.

How do I view the Corporate minutes?

Any shareholder has the right to inspect and copy the Minutes of the Corporation upon written request per Alaska Statute.

How much land does Shee Atiká own on Admiralty Island?

With the completion of the Cube Cove land sale in January 2020, we no longer own any land on Admiralty Island.

Will Shee Atiká be able to provide land to our Native Veterans through the Alaska Native Vietnam Veterans Land Allotment Act?

If Shee Atiká bids for the No Name Creek land, will you involve respected clan leaders in your decisions? Will you consider a year-round cultural gathering place?
