Message from the Chair
As we move into the second quarter of 2025, I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who joined us for Coffee & Questions with the CEO and Chair on April 3 in Sitka. We were thrilled to hear from so many shareholders in person—your feedback helps us continue to improve how we communicate and serve our shareholder community.
Based on your input, we will soon be updating our website to better highlight Sitka-based and remote job opportunities and to more clearly feature important events for local shareholders. We're committed to keeping shareholders connected—whether you're in Sitka or across the country. You can find more information in the newsletter below, including a preview of the best way to find the information that is important to you.
Looking ahead, we hope to see you at one of our upcoming Shareholder Information Meetings throughout May and early June. These gatherings are a great way to ask questions, connect with fellow shareholders, and learn more about current initiatives and the growth of our family of companies. We’re also excited to share that each meeting will begin with a dance performance, celebrating our rich culture and community.
- May 3 – Seattle, WA (12:00 pm PT)
- May 17 – Sitka, AK (12:00pm AKT)
- June 7 – Anchorage, AK (12:00 pm AKT)
You’ll find a full list of meeting dates and locations below and on our website: www.sheeatika.com.
Please also mark your calendars for the 51st Annual Meeting of Shareholders, scheduled for June 28, 2025, at the Muckleshoot Casino Resort in Auburn, Washington. The meeting will also feature a dance performance to open the day’s events. We’re excited about this yearly gathering and look forward to welcoming new and familiar faces.
Standing Against the Sitka Ballot Initiative
I’d also like to address an important issue affecting the future of Sitka and Shee Atiká’s tourism operations. A local ballot initiative has been introduced that would cap annual cruise ship passengers in Sitka at 300,000. Shee Atiká strongly opposes this measure and has taken a Vote NO stance.
Shee Atiká has committed $5,000 to support the Safeguard Sitka's Future campaign, joining others who understand how vital sustainable tourism is to our local economy and Sitka’s future. The special election date is scheduled for May 28, 2025.
We urge shareholders who are eligible to vote in Sitka to vote NO and help protect the future of our community and our company.

Shee Atiká Tourism Vote
Protecting the Future of Sitka and Sustainable Tourism
|
|
|
|
A local ballot initiative has been introduced that would cap annual cruise ship passengers in Sitka at 300,000. Shee Atiká strongly opposes this measure and has taken an official Vote NO stance. The Board of Directors has unanimously passed a resolution in support of the City of Sitka’s existing process for managing visitor numbers and has stated clear opposition to the initiative.
Shee Atiká has joined the coalition Save Sitka, which includes Allen Marine, Sitka Dock Company, Samson Tug and Barge, and other community stakeholders committed to protecting Sitka’s economy and cultural integrity. A contribution of $5,000 has been made to support the coalition’s efforts in opposing the initiative. The city has scheduled the vote for May 28, 2025.
The proposed cap presents a serious threat to Sitka’s economy, including Shee Atiká’s investment in Sheet’ká Treetop Adventures and the broader vision for inclusive, culturally respectful tourism in the region. Shareholders who are eligible to vote in Sitka are strongly encouraged to vote NO in support of sustainable growth and a vibrant future for the community.
