The Shee Atiká, Incorporated Board of Directors unanimously voted to honor Senator Bert Stedman with the 2019 William Paul Award on Friday, July 26, 2019.
Senator Stedman was instrumental in securing the funds for the road to Katlian Bay that will provide access to Shee Atiká lands. Additionally, while representing our district in the State Senate since 2003, Senator Stedman has helped to appropriate funds for Sitka projects that have created jobs and helped the economy of Sitka and other Southeast Alaska Communities. The William Paul Award is presented to an individual or group for outstanding service to Shee Atiká and its shareholders. The award is named in memory of William Paul for his contribution in helping to form Shee Atiká. While the award bears his name, the honor is symbolic of others who made significant contributions to the corporation’s founding and early development. Shee Atiká would not be here today without the efforts of those individuals.
