Tonia Puletau-Lang
Tourism Director
Tonia Puletau-Lang is a dedicated tourism professional with nearly 25 years of experience in cultural tourism and destination marketing in Sheet’ká. As the Tourism Director, Tonia is responsible for developing and implementing tourism strategies, policies, and programs that align with Shee Atiká’s mission, vision, and values.
Prior to her employment with Shee Atiká, Tonia spent a total of 14 years in Sitka Tribe of Alaska’s Tribal Enterprises Department, where she served as Tourism Manager for 10 of those years. As a business owner, she provided consulting services and specialized in branding, marketing, social media management, graphic design, project development, and large event coordination. Most recently, she served as the Special Projects Manager for the Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce / Visit Sitka.
Tonia is the daughter of Maka Puletau and Betty vanVeen and has lived most of her life in Sitka. She is married to Gary Puletau-Lang, a lifelong Sitka resident, Shee Atiká shareholder, and Tribal Citizen. They have a large blended family with 4 adult children and 4 younger children who are still at home.
In her spare time, Tonia loves doing things that feed her soul: making memories with her husband and children, enjoying belly laughs with family and friends, spending time by the ocean, savoring excellent food, going on adventures with loved ones, singing loudly, and dancing with carefree abandon.
